Modern prison facilities for 510 inmates at Wuppertal-Ronsdorf Prison

The Wuppertal-Ronsdorf correctional facility (JVA) was opened in 2011 after only two years of construction and has since offered 510 places in closed custody, 310 of which are for juvenile offenders (juvenile detention) and 200 for young remand prisoners (criminal justice system). The modern facility is characterised by its well-thought-out architecture and high-quality facilities, contributing to a safe and orderly prison system.

High security standards thanks to STUV high-security locks

The safety of staff and inmates is the top priority at Wuppertal-Ronsdorf Prison. The detention rooms are spread across four detention buildings in two complexes. The approximately 10-hectare site also includes gatehouses and administration buildings, three factory buildings with 18 workshops, a kitchen building and a sports hall. All security and high-security locks were manufactured and installed by STUV. These doors and gates were fitted with locks by STUV:

• Mesh/fence door
• Sluice gate
• specially secured detention room door
• Gate door
• Workspace door
• Sports hall door
• Service door
• Band protection door
• Smoke protection door

Individual requirements require individual security solutions

In addition to the series products, STUV has also produced numerous custom-made products for the Wuppertal-Ronsdorf prison. These have been specially adapted to the individual requirements of the prison and thus contribute to an even higher level of security and comfort. In addition to delivery, STUV also took care of the assembly of the high-security locks.
