Safety, innovation and tradition: that's us, Steinbach & Vollmann!
For 140 years, Steinbach & Vollmann (STUV) has been one of the leading medium-sized companies in the lock, security and hardware industry. Our company is centrally located between the cities of Essen, Düsseldorf and Wuppertal. With over 160 employees at our headquarters in Germany and sales companies in Spain and China, we serve both local and international markets.
Our main customers are in industry and public authorities. We supply innovative mechanical and electronic solutions for renowned industrial customers, e.g. for aircraft, machines, the food industry, cold storage rooms, trains and safes. In the field of correctional facilities, we are the market and innovation leader for high-security locks used in German-speaking countries.
Our business model is future-proof and has great growth potential. We have big plans for the coming years. With a new product and marketing strategy, we want to significantly expand our market share both nationally and internationally and are therefore looking to strengthen our team.
Why we want to fill this position:
We are seeking a goal-oriented, responsible and conscientious employee to help us implement various projects in the field of critical infrastructure and chamber/cooling.
These are the main tasks:
Become part of STUV as a member of the Prototype Engineering team. You will work closely with the design and product management teams. During your three-month induction phase, we will familiarise you with the products, the market and its specific requirements. Your responsibilities will then include the independent production of prototype parts and small series, taking into account quality, cost and deadline specifications based on sketches, drawings and development specifications. It is important to record the evaluations of the sample construction in the form of documentation. As STUV continues to grow, new and challenging projects are constantly coming in. These are particularly prevalent in the areas of high security (justice, police, forensics) and the refrigeration industry. You will master these together in project teams.
What sets you apart:
If you have completed vocational training in metalworking or have a similar qualification, you have already cleared the first hurdle. Any professional experience you have already gained will help you quickly find your feet in your new role. Knowledge of relevant measuring equipment and experience in CNC milling technology and CAD software will round off your profile. You have a sound knowledge of manufacturing processes for sample production and appreciate a diverse range of tasks with a high level of vertical integration. If you are also skilled with your hands, a team player and solution-oriented, you are almost certain to get the position we are advertising. Your reliable, responsible and conscientious work will cement our working relationship long after you join us.
What we offer you:
We offer you a secure job in a great team with plenty of opportunities to shape your career in a medium-sized company with very fast decision-making processes. We work in an open corporate culture characterised by mutual respect, where we promote diversity. A varied and challenging range of tasks awaits you at our company. As part of our occupational health management programme, you will benefit from our e-bike leasing scheme, water dispensers and cooperation offers. Attractive remuneration and 30 days of annual leave round off our offer as an employer. For your health, we subsidise an e-bike and sponsor supplementary health insurance for our employees.
